The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted our finances for the Telephone and Carpenter House Museums. Forced to close our doors for most of 2020, our major source of visitor donations came to an abrupt end. We were very fortunate to secure two grants in 2020 to assist with our museums’ utilities bills – A CARES Act Humanities Relief Grant from Humanities Washington in the amount of $3,500, and a $750 Community Recovery Grant from Hope Source in Ellensburg. Now, in 2021, our programs have been supported, in part, by a $4,000 grant from the Washington State Arts Commission and National Endowment for the Arts. A HUGE THANK YOU TO THESE ORGANIZATIONS FOR YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT!!
We also want to acknowledge the amazing support offered by the local NKC Tribune newspaper, who generously offers us matching funds when we advertise our museums. THANK YOU!
Donations are always welcomed by our historical society – a non-profit 501c3 organization – and are needed for the upkeep of our two historic museums. There are two different ways you can donate to NKCHS:
When shopping on Amazon, always start at smile.amazon.com and Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to NKCHS. Just go to smile.amazon.com every time you want to shop on Amazon, and select the Northern Kittitas County Historical Society as your favorite charitable organization. It’s a very easy, simple way to support our local society. Don’t forget – smile.amazon.com. Thank you!
Thank You for supporting NKCHS!!
