Grant funding over the past few years has enabled us to install new roofs on both the Telephone and Carpenter House Museums as well as repair broken plumbing, soaked drywall, and broken front steps among other things. There is always something to fix or repair on the two 100-year old buildings! Most recently, in 2017, we received a grant from the Suncadia Fund for Community Enhancement (SFCE) to renovate the Carpenter House Museum’s basement. Renovation included insulating and paneling the main work room, and installation of a small galley kitchen. This important update has enabled us to provide a more hospitable and inviting community center for history lectures, musical concerts, art workshops, children’s reading center, classes, and more.
